Tornado news from May 31, 2013

Not Totally Missed This Time!!!

Just 11 days after the Tornado in Moore we had another killer storm and this time in El Reno. The store is OK though it has some roof damage from softball size hail.

All the guitars are fine. However, Sandra and I have a 115 year old Farm house South of El Reno that took a direct hit. We were not there at the time. We have been in the process of remodeling the old house and were in transition between our house in Mustang and moving some things as we restored the old house to become our home.

The old farm originally had two large barns and 12 other buildings and the house. The two large barns are completely gone, and 9 of the 12 other buildings are gone with only 3 other out buildings partially standing. The Ef5 Tornado had winds of 300 miles per hour and was over 2.5 miles wide and has now been determined to be the largest ever measured. The tornado blew all the windows out and tore the roof off the house and the second story has wonderful sunlight from above in all the rooms now.

The good news is that no one was there at the time and no one hurt on our property. The old house has sort of been used as the media face of the storm and has been shown on ABC and the Weather Channel quite often. (See the Picture Below)

The Storm Chaser car that was rolled multiple times was across the highway from the house.

It has amazed us how many friends care about us from all over the world. We are now cleaning up and hope to get back to normal as soon as possible. Thanks also for your patience. We were without power and had no phone service or internet for a few days. We are back in business now.

Please pray for the families of those 18 people who were killed in this most recent storm. Houses, barns and things can be replaced but our loved ones are our greatest treasure.
